RMAX Install:
- Turn the ignition key to the OFF position.
- Remove the hood to gain access to the firewall panel that your speed management key is installed on.
- Remove that firewall panel by removing the 9 bolts that secure it (5 along the top and 4 along the bottom).
- On the dashboard, there are pre-cut, rectangular switch holes. Choose the location you want to install the switch and remove the rubber plug.
- Insert the D-Mode switch connectors in first, push the wires through, and then push your switch into the hole until it snaps into place.
- Locate the bundle of connectors behind the dash, near the steering column.
- Locate the 4-pin connector that only has 3 wires going in to it (black, white/yellow, and blue/white). Remove the plug from it and connect the D-Mode switch 4-pin connector to it. The correct 4-pin connector is sometimes buried deep into the wire bundle. The 4-pin connector with 4 wires will not work.
- Locate one of the 2-pin accessory power connectors. There are several of them. Remove the plug from one of them and connect the D-Mode switch 2-pin connector to it.
- Turn the ignition key to the ON position and verify that the switch is successfully changing the drive modes.
- Reassemble the firewall and install the hood.
