X2 1000 Install:
Note: The video above is for the RMAX but the steps are very similar. The main difference is the X2 uses a single 6-pin connector described below instead of the 4-pin and 2-pin connectors that the RMAX uses.
- Turn the ignition key to the OFF position.
- Remove the hood to gain access to the firewall panel .
- Remove that firewall panel by removing the 9 bolts that secure it.
- On the dashboard, there are pre-cut, rectangular switch holes. Choose the location you want to install the switch and remove the rubber plug.
- Insert the D-Mode switch connectors in first, push the wires through, and then push your switch into the hole until it snaps into place.
- Locate the bundle of wires behind the dash, near the steering column.
- Locate the 6-pin connector that only has 5 wires going in to it. Remove the dust/water plug from it and connect the D-Mode switch 6-pin connector to it.
- Turn the ignition key to the ON position and verify that the switch is successfully changing the drive modes.
- Reassemble the firewall and install the hood.
